In these images I have experimented with red and yellow. I have chosen these colours because of its use in suffragette organisations. The use of yellow/gold began in 1867 in a campaign organised by Susan B Anthony and Elizabeth C Stanton, and derived from the colour of the sunflower, the state symbol of Kansas. The poster depicting "Rosie the Riveter" (adapted on the left) came much later in 1943. The poster had used colour yellow to represent feminism.
